AFCEA Rocky Mountain Chapter

The AFCEA Rocky Mountain Chapter is a leader in the Colorado Springs community, unifying the area's military, government, and industry partners to advance the continuing education of today's young leaders in science, technology, engineering, math and computer science fields (STEM).
We have more than 700 chapter members who are prominent throughout the community in all facets of public service. The Rocky Mountain Chapter is proud to sponsor the premier annual Rocky Mountain Cyberspace Symposium (RMCS) at the world class Broadmoor resort. This event attracts senior government, military, industry executives and academics to discuss the ever challenging cyberspace domain and ways to share information and best practices that can improve current and future cyberspace operations.
The Chapter also holds monthly luncheons, several social events throughout the year, Young AFCEAN happy hours, and the tri-sponsored IMAGE Golf Tournament with the National Defense Industrial Association and the Air Force Association. Our organization provides the Front Range community with over $200,000 annually in STEM teacher grants at the local elementary, middle and high school level and college STEM scholarships at Pikes Peak Community College and UCCS.  Through  and the Pikes Peak Science Fair enables the ongoing education of tomorrow's most promising technology leaders. We also support many local outstanding servicemen and women programs.  Our organization provides the Front Range community with over $200,000 annually in scholarships and grants to high school, college, and graduate students, enlisted military, and other community partners who support STEM education.

Chapter Forms New Partnership with Local College

In December, Russ Fellers, chapter vice president for education, and Rod Pohlmann, chair, chapter investment committee, presented a check for $50,000 to University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) Vice Chancellor Martin Wood and Assistant Director for Development Zuleika Johnson. The check, and a newly signed agreement, will support a new partnership with UCCS to establish scholarships focused on STEM-related majors for 2019 and subsequent years. The goal is to maintain and grow the partnership in the years ahead and focus the chapter's endowment funds on supporting students in the local community.

Another Record Year for the Rocky Mountain Cyberspace Symposium 2019

Once again, the chapter thanks all the Defense Department and industry partners for another record year. The generous support shown for this year's show enables the chapter to contribute over $200,000 to local STEM education programs and scholarships-more than twice that of last year's donations. The chapter donates 100 percent of the net profits from this symposium to the local STEM fund. To date, over $1 million in grants and scholarships has been donated, much of it due to the outstanding support from sponsors, exhibitors and other donations. Here are some amazing statistics and highlights from this year's show: Over 2,300 attendees; 129 companies/organizations exhibiting; 33 Speakers (10 Flag/SVP) from industry and Defense Department; 10 technical training classes providing certification credits; exposure to over 65,000 government, industry and academic entities through the advertising campaign. Once again, thank you for helping make 2019 a great success, and the chapter hopes to see everyone again next year for the 2020 show: February 3 - 6, 2020.
